What is the Lititz Storytelling Festival?
The Lititz Storytelling Festival is an entertaining, interactive event that brings together local, regional, national and international oral storytellers who perform a wide variety of stories and conduct workshops. It is important to note that the storytellers do not read stories to the audience.
To paraphrase the National Storytelling Network: Storytelling is the interactive art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination. In storytelling, the listeners imagine the story. On the other hand, in most traditional theatre or in a typical dramatic film, the viewers are shown the characters or events described in the story.
An “open mic” Story Swap and musical entertainment will also be available. Learn more on the About Us page.
